Sensei Smole has
been training
martial arts since 1993 and has been the principal instructor in Los
Alamos since 2006.
Her passion is to empower people to be the best that they can be by teaching them how to master themselves and their own minds, thereby allowing them to respond appropriately and effectively in self-defense situations, and in life. Being a woman who is smaller than most men, Sensei Smole fully understands the value in proper technique and what makes martial arts effective against larger, aggressive individuals. She brings that knowledge to her class. She
believes that the sincere study of martial arts provides a profound
path of personal growth that emanates to all aspects of a person's life
and results in both inner and outer harmony. |
Dr. Markus Hehlen has been a
student of martial arts since 1990. He
currently assists with instruction in the adult classes, and was
formerly the kids class instructor for three years.
In Shoshin Ryu he has found a holistic approach to training both body and mind. Focusing on the journey, rather than a predetermined measurable goal, has helped him discover his physical and mental potential and has truly enriched his personal and professional life. Removing competitiveness and viewing the process and the training partners as a whole establishes an inner calm and provides a fertile ground for learning. The journey’s destination matters not as much as
one’s next step forward, and it is this next step that one controls. |
Gary Sandine
is the instructor for the
kids class and he enjoys
sharing his enthusiasm for physical fitness and martial arts.
The young students have fun while developing skills that support
fitness, self confidence, and mindfulness.
