The Los Alamos Shoshin Ryu Dojo provides a diverse training environment, consisting of men and women of all ages and skill levels.  Gary Sandine also provides a kids' class for children under the age of 14.  If you are a parent, be sure to check out  the kids' class website.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, the adult class begins by formally bowing in followed by a 15 minute group warm-up and formal training.  The Friday adult class is geared towards advanced students who have a solid foundation and knowledge of the curriculum.

We do kata on the hardwood floors in the gym, where there is plenty of room for the dynamic movements of the kata.  For self-defense, throws, ground work and weapons practice, we cover the floor of the aerobics room with zebra mats and train there.

Approximately once every six months, we have a special seminar with an out-of-town instructor.  See the events page for upcoming seminars, and check out the photo gallery for pictures from the most recent of our past seminars.

Once a year, the parent Shoshin Ryu organization holds a National seminar.  The National seminar is for yellow belt and above practitioners and it is held in a different location every year. Nationals is an inspirational event that provides the opportunity to train with highly skilled martial artists from around the country.
